The CIVIVI RIP RESCUE C2017DS-1 is a rescue knife meant to get you out of a pinch. The handle includes a glass breaker and stainless steel safety cutter for clothing and seat belts. The main cutting blade is deployed with a flipper tab and rides on caged ceramic bearings so the action is quite nice. So nice in fact that we hardly see this knife staying put in your car for emergencies when you really need it. More likely than not it’s getting treated like an EDC or even a tactical blade. It’s got the size and the strength, while the 9Cr18MoV stainless steel blade will hold an adequate edge and is able to be sharpened with ease. The more we think about it, the more we like everything that the Rip brings to the table.
