Chris Reeve Knives was founded in January 1984, with Chris Reeve making custom knives in the single garage connected to the house in which Reeve was living in Durban, South Africa. Later, He moved to the USA, expanded his business, and now headquarters in Boise, Idaho.
The company designs, manufacture, and sells folding pocket knives and fixed-blade knives. Chris Reeve Knives has made extensive contributions to the knife world, including the industry-standard Reeve Integral Lock™ (known as “frame-lock”). The Company worked closely with Crucible Industries and played an essential role in generating CPM S30V, S35VN, and S45VN; powdered blade steels formed especially for edge-retention toughness and corrosion resistance.

Umnumzaan means “the Boss” in Zulu, and in every sense of the definition, it’s a knife deserving of respect.
It features modifications to the Reeve Integral Lock, more blade strength, pivot, lock tolerances,, and overall ergonomics.
The hollow-ground blade is heat-treated to maintain flexibility and edge retention and features a glass-breaker while closed.
