This OPINEL NO8 OP002320 OUTDOOR KNIFE features the Virobloc Safety rings.
Invent by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring fits all folding knives sizes No6 through No12.
Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has also two sections, one fixed and one sliding.
In addition to locking the blade open (safety while in use), it is now possible to lock the blade close (safety on the go).
Blade: 12C27 Sandvik Stainless Steel
Handle: Fiberglass-reinforced polyamide withstands shocks, humidity, and also extreme temperatures(-40°F à +176°F). Pealess survival whistle functions in all weathers (110 decibels).
Yatagan Style: The classic Opinel blade has adopted a Yatagan shape. The Yatagan shape is in fact inspire by a traditional Turkish saber, the toe up. The blade is exclusive convex profile that ensures the strength of the blade and allows efficient regrinding.
